About Therapy and Services
My practice is first and foremost is person centered, meaning that any intervention used will be completely tailored to your needs and values. The modalities I specialize in include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), Mindfulness-based practices, Wilderness and Experiential therapy.
EMDR is a structured therapy that helps process and resolve traumatic memories by using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements. It’s effective for PTSD, anxiety, and other trauma-related concerns. If you feel stuck in the past or find your trauma interfering with your present, EMDR might be right for you.
Wilderness therapy incorporates nature into the healing process. Sessions may involve outdoor activities or reflections in natural settings to enhance mindfulness, reduce stress, and foster personal growth. This approach is especially helpful for those seeking a connection with nature as part of their therapeutic journey. All initial sessions will take place in office.
The Therapy Process
The first session focuses on understanding your goals and getting to know you. We’ll discuss your history, current challenges, and what you hope to achieve in therapy. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions and see if we’re a good fit.
Sessions typically last 50 minutes. The number of sessions depends on your needs and goals.
I offer both virtual and in-person sessions to accommodate different needs and preferences. In-person sessions may also include wilderness therapy aspect if requested.
Logistics and Practicalities
Yes, I offer a free 10-minute consultation call to help you decide if my services are the right fit for you. During this call, we’ll discuss your goals for therapy, any questions you may have, and how I can support you.
